Same Name, Same Logo, Same Company?

TechCrunch helped launch knew social network mashup Loopster, which funnily enough has almost the same logo as ULoop, a company marketing to UW students another student-to-student exchange service.Uloop

Uloopster Same logo, same company?  Maybe both just decided that a smiley face can easily be formed around a name with a double 'O,' and these two just by coincidence contain the word loop.  Who knows, but I'm curious.

Interesting note: I remembered both the Uloop name and logo from it's facebook ad while I was reading TechCrunch.  Turns out you can get some brand awareness from banner ads.

Addition: Was contact by Uloop, and they are in no way associated with loopster.  Apparently the Uloop logo was devised because it 'makes most people smile when they see it.'  That could be a lesson in branding 101
